EZPronounce is a small and easy-to-use software application designed to pronounce selected or highlighted word in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, WordPad or Notepad.

Note:
  1. In order to use EZPronounce, your computer must remain connected to the Internet.
  2. For the time being EZPronounce can pronounce selected or highlighted word in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, WordPad or Notepad.
  3. Your computer must have Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 installed. If you want to know whether your computer has Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 installed, please read FAQs. For more information about Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 and how to install it, click here.
  4. During installation EZPronounce will automatically overwrite previous versions.
  5. As for the question of security issue, please read our FAQs.
During setup EZPronounce will install the following icons into your computer:
  • EZPronounce icon in Internet Explorer toolbar.
  • EZPronounce icon in taskbar notification area (System tray).
  • EZPronounce entry in Internet Explorer context menu.
  • EZPronounce icon in Start/Programs/EZPronounce.
  • EZPronounce icon on desktop.
Highlight or double click on the word, and then click on one of these icons, EZPronounce will get the audio clip from a free online dictionary and pronounce it. Make sure your computer's audio card is properly configured and speakers are turned on.

The following illustrates Two Steps to use EZPronounce:

Step one: Highlight or double click on the word.

Step two: Click on one of EZPronounce icons.

If you need to configure EZPronounce, right click on the EZPronounce icon in taskbar notification area (System tray), the following context menu will pop up.

You may choose your favoriate audio clip source or let EZPronounce automatically select it for you.

You may configure settings to add/remove icon into toolbar or entry into context menu in Internet Explorer. You may also let EZPronounce launch at Windows startup.

You may let EZPronounce to repeatedly pronounce. You may also set repeat interval and times.

By using Listen and Compare feature of EZPronounce, you may type or paste up to ten words into Listen and Compare text area and then listen and compare the pronunciation differences among them.

The following illustrates Three Steps to use Listen and Compare feature:

Step one: Click on 'Listen and Compare' entry in the context menu
Step two: Type or paste words into Listen and Compare text area
Step three: Click on the icon on the right to hear the pronunciation

EZPronounce will get the audio clips from free online dictionaries and pronounce them one by one as the word is highlighted.

When you try to download EZPronounce, you may get a security warning like this:
“While files from internet can be useful, this file type can potentially harm your computer. If you do not trust the source, do not run or save this software. What's the risk?”
You get this warning because EZPronounce is not digitally signed at this time. You can safely ignore this warning and click the ‘Save’ button to continue downloading.
